A Weekend of Fun in the Oh-So-Hot Sun
We survived! In desperate need of a day of recovery but for the most part unscathed and blister free. This past weekend Harper participated for the first time in the Barnett Family Annual Camping Trip. We switched it up this year and for the first time the event was held at McKinney State Park, southeast of Austin. Honestly I was a little aprehensive. I wasn’t sure what to expect having a 16 month old with no physical bounderies. The kid is fast! And sneaky! And bullheaded (hmmm, wonder who she gets that from)! I had prepared myself for an exhausting weekend of chasing, and no-no’s, and applying/reapplying sunsreen, and comforting a fussy baby who has had little exposure to the sweltering heat we were to experience. I did my fair share of these things. But for the most part, WE HAD FUN!
Harper really enjoyed the time with all of her cousins. She doesn’t believe in favorites, but…Heather. And her Daddy and I enjoyed getting to share our girl with family that we don’t get to see near enough. We hiked, and swam, and ate. We (and by we I mean not me) nearly caught the park on fire… but God was watching over us. And more importantly we loved each.
On the road again…
Plum tuckered out. Is that not the most adorably tiny hiney EVER?!?
Aww Harp's first camping trip! Yeah! First of many many I'm sure. She will LOVE the outdoors!
