Potty Training is Sabotaging My Diet

We’re potty trained! We’re potty trained! Hip-Hip Hooray!!

So I’m a little proud…and relieved…I have a few more pennies in my pocket…and I may have gained 5lbs in the process.

Harper has been in the process of potty training for months now which means that for months we have had a treat jar of M&Ms to use as her reward. M&Ms I can live without. They aren’t a temptation, but about a month ago she decided that jelly beans were more motivating. Hey, whatever it takes…

***Warning. Starburst Jelly Beans are IRRESISTIBLE***

Not even my husband knows this. Or maybe he has noticed but was so embarrassed for me that he has yet to mention it. But I have a confession…Many times, after Harper has picked out her two jelly beans and left the room, I return…and grab a handful…and then I return again minutes later and grab another handful, because once I start, I can’t stop! Those jelly beans own me!

For the sake of my blood sugar, and my waistline, I’m hoping that she soon finds something else that is more motivating. Stickers? Money? Diamonds?!? Fingers crossed!
