2012 Girls Trip
I. Hate. The. Sun.
Okay, not literally. I understand that it is necessary for sustaining our livelihood. But man did it wreak havoc on my body. Probably because since being diagnosed with melanoma in 2009 and basil cell carcinoma in 2010, me and the sun have barely been acquaintances. Yes, I wore sunscreen, everywhere, but that didn’t seem to matter. My face is peeling, my lips are blistered. I’m all kinda ugly right now. But we had FUN!!
We ate. We drank. We danced. And laughed…ALOT! And we slept without interruption. We tried to keep the “I miss my baby/babies” comments to a minimum. And we failed.
We spent our day in Cozumel on Passion Island, famous for being the stunning location where all of the Corona commercials are filmed. And let me tell you, it is even more gorgeous in person. The white sand was cool to the touch and the water was crystal clear. We left the island a little beat up after attempting the water slides, etc. Remember me mentioning laughing…ALOT. Yeah!
The food on the boat was amazing. I cannot get the sushi off of my mind. That Monday Mission to find balance while on the boat, another fail. I ate and ate and ate. French toast with syrup, chocolate molten cake…every night, bread, bread, and more bread, pizza…I through caution to the wind. But somehow, according to my doctor, I only gained a pound. That cannot be right!
This little vacation was good for me. While I did miss my family something awful, it was so exciting to reunite. And this is the first vacation I have ever been on that I came back, dare I say it…rested.
Today will be my first day back at the gym, so wish me luck!
Rockin’ rock hard abs!!! You have inspired me to step up my fitness level.
Thanks! Inspiring others makes it all worth while.
Ahhh, that looks like such a great time!!! What I wouldn’t give for an all girls vacation. How tall are you? You look long and lean in your pictures!!
Thanks! I’ll take long and lean anyday. I’m actually 5’7. I just have tiny friends. LOL!
