A Tradition & Some Whining
This weekend we took our girls along with the oldest of my two younger brothers to the Dallas Arboretum for a picnic and to view the unbelievable Pumpkin Village. If you live in the area, and have yet to visit the Arboretum this time of year, I strongly urge you to do so. It is quite the spectacle! This is Harper’s third year to visit and the first year that she seemed to really enjoy it. I didn’t have a structured workout this weekend and I ate terribly…again (we’ll get to this a little later…Some Whining), but chasing my overstimulated two year old around acres of park for hours relieved at least a tad of the guilt. Aniston reacted in a very similar fashion as Harper her first year, slightly afraid of all of the orange… and then she slept. My typically happy baby, the one referred to as Happy Face because of her perma-smile, well…she didn’t smile. And that’s okay. The weather was perfect and the company even better.
Some Whining…
As much as I loved my girls getaway, it really got me off track. For the life of me I cannot find my motivation. I’m in a Fitness Funk! And concerning my diet, I seem to have misplaced my willpower. I have shoveled more processed food in to my pie-hole in the past two weeks than I want to admit. And while I have been going to the gym (practically kicking and screaming) my workouts have been lackluster at best. Because I know how important my health is for not only me, but for my husband and my babies as well (must stay in toddler-chasing shape) I am recommitting myself to my fitness. Back in the saddle I go!
Fitness Funk… we all go through the ups and downs. During my weight loss journey, I remember going for a month without seeing any change or worse, the scale slowly moving up 200.1…200.4…200.9… ughhh!!!. That was a serious motivation killer. And don’t get me started on processed foods. I still have a weakness for Oreo cookies. I swear they were invented by Satan himself. The funk will pass. Change your work out or add something new and different. Perhaps try dancing, cycling or swimming or roller blades. Better yet, take some time and reflect on ALL that you have accomplished and just enjoy the fruits of your labor for a while =^ )
