Beautiful Blogger Award
What on honor it is to be nominated for a Beautiful Blogger Award by a fellow blogger that is so inspiring to me. Thank You Fit Minded Mom! (If you haven’t checked her out…DO IT…NOW! She has a very easy-going way of pushing you to be a better Mom, a better wife, better in the kitchen, and in the gym.)
My intention when starting this blog was to somehow motivate other Mommas to take care of themselves so that they can take care of their babies. To make them realize that making themselves a priority should not be guilt inducing. And to prove that by being strong, we are encouraging our tinies to be strong as well.
I am so proud of this nomination, because it means that by the grace of God, I have somehow succeeded in sharing my passion for family and fitness in a way that others appreciate.
Beautiful Blogger Award Rules:
The idea behind the Beautiful Blogger Award is to recognize some of the bloggers we follow for their hard work and inspiration.
1. Copy the Beautiful Blogger Award logo and place it in your post.
2. Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog.
3. Tell 7 things about yourself.
4. Nominate other bloggers for their own Beautiful Blogger Award, and comment on their blogs to let them know.
7 things about myself
- I am a recovering Tanorexic. There I said it. There was time in the not so distant past that I was obsessed with the tanning bed. My skin was as brown as my coffee and I thought I looked good. Aaand…I was wrong. What I looked was ridiculous! in 2009, while 7 months pregnant with Harper, I was diagnosed with Melanoma. And then again in 2010 I had basil cell carcinoma. After years of fighting the ‘white’, I have now embraced my fairer skin. And use sunscreen obsessively.
- As a teenager my dream was to move to NYC with my best friend Brandy, and be a coffee shop waitress.
- I turned 30 on the same day that Prince William married Duchess Kate. I kept Harper home with me so that we could watch an ordinary girl become a Princess.
- I am a firm believer in quality vs. quantity, especially regarding friends.
- My alter ego would have tattoos, lots of them. I tend to be a little ridged, and tattoos to me reflect a carefree spirit.
- I honestly believe that I am the luckiest girl in the world for having married Aaron Barnett.
- I have always loved to write, for as long as I can remember. In 8th grade I was approached by a songwriter out of Nashville who suggested turning some of my poetry in to songs.
Now it is my turn to nominate some fellow bloggers for the Beautiful Blogger Award.
My nominees:
- Yoonanimous– One of the most eloquent writers on the Blogishere. Wife, Mom, Lawyer. Her interpretation of life is extremely witty and exceptionally entertaining.
- SmallPotatoes– If you lack inspiration for kid friendly activities, you must check this out. She is genius! And her photography is beyond beautiful.
- WorkingOutLove– I absolutely love this blog. It is thought provoking and full of Christian love.
- DomesticDiva,M.D.– Her tagline: “My mother raised the perfect housewife…then i went to med school.” Need a scrumptious recipe, she’s your girl.
- BurnsNest– Beautiful friend. Beautiful Mother. Natural storyteller.
I used to tan a lot too but it was when I was in my late teens, early twenties. Now, I lather up with as much sunscreen as possible. However, I am really lucky that I am naturally olive complected so I look like I have a tan year round.
