Not Your Momma’s Booty
Before I explain the lighthearted title of this post, I need to address something weighing quite heavy on my heart. Last night, North Texas suffered yet another tragedy. We were hit by 10 tornadoes and the towns of Grandbury and Cleburne suffered major loss, including 6 confirmed deaths, over 100 people injured, and 7 people still unaccounted for. I am praying for peace and healing for everyone affected, asking for strength and resilience for all of the volunteers, and thanking God once again for another day with those that I love
It is by God’s grace only that today I was able to do what I do. And for that reason, I did it BIG.
Not Your Momma’s Booty
I read this somewhere the other day. I really wish I remember where so that I could give credit where credit is do. If it was you that spoke these words, thank you for the giggle.
My Momma always said the bigger the hair, the smaller your butt looks. Little does my Momma know that I want a bigger butt!– funny right?!
And as I like to say since having kids, ‘I just want to put it back where it belongs‘, aka. not down at my knees. My mission today was to squat and deadlift that baby back to its starting position.
100 Squats + 100 Deadlifts = BOOM
Alternate these two movements with as little rest in between as possible. I lifted at about 65% of my max weight. Who needs cardio?
- 10 x 10 deadlifts
- 10 x 10 squats
- Finish up with a 1 mile speedy run with legs weighing 200lbs each
